Thekla retains AEW Women's title at Double or Nothing in Queens

Thekla successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship at Double or Nothing on May 25, 2026, pinning Kris Statlander in a four-way match held at a venue in Queens, New York, to extend her reign as titleholder.

The Austrian-born champion entered the contest against Statlander, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida with all three challengers initially targeting her as a collective threat. Statlander and Shida operated with a degree of alignment early in the bout, though that partnership fractured after Shida struck her tag team partner with a kendo stick and followed it with a slap that brought the two to open conflict. Hayter remained largely independent of any alliance. The decisive sequence came when Hayter and Shida neutralised each other outside the ring with simultaneous clothesline attempts, leaving Thekla alone with a disoriented Statlander. Thekla landed a stomp and secured the pinfall.

Thekla captured the championship from Statlander on AEW Dynamite in February 2026 and, according to the draft material, has since made six successful defences, with the Double or Nothing victory counted among them.

Thekla indicated at the post-show media scrum that she is monitoring the Owen Hart Women’s Tournament, naming her Triangle of Madness stablemate Skye Blue as the competitor she expects to win it. Her own next scheduled opponent has not been announced.
