Stabbings and arrests mar Arsenal's Premier League title parade in London

Six people were stabbed and 24 arrested during Arsenal’s Premier League title parade in London on 31 May 2026, with one victim – a man in his 20s – suffering life-threatening injuries before being stabilised. Most of the other victims sustained injuries that were not considered serious. Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Bell confirmed officers were on scene swiftly at each stabbing and that investigations remain ongoing.

Of those arrested, 10 were held on suspicion of assaulting police: one officer sustained a slash wound to the hand and another was struck on the head by thrown objects. Three further arrests were made on suspicion of sexual assault and three on drug-related charges. Four police vans were also damaged. Bell acknowledged the “hundreds of thousands” of supporters who attended without incident but said gang-related violence emerged as the evening progressed and crowds thinned.

Arsenal had been celebrating their first top-flight English league title since the 2003-04 season, ending a 22-year wait. The open-top bus parade moved through Islington in north London, the borough that houses Emirates Stadium, the club’s home ground. The events in London occurred on the same weekend that crowd disorder following Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League victory resulted in nearly 800 detentions and one death in Paris, drawing wider attention to security challenges around large-scale football celebrations.

Police said investigations into the stabbings and other offences from the day are continuing, with no further details on suspects publicly confirmed at the time of reporting.
