Schottenheimer lists $3.8M McKinney home to move closer to Cowboys facility

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has put his McKinney, Texas, home on the market at $3.8 million, with proximity to the team’s Frisco training facility cited as the primary reason for the move. Listing agent Carrie Himel, of Compass Sports & Entertainment, told The Dallas Morning News that time and convenience were the deciding factors. “It really is just time being closer to work, and every minute counts, when you’re at that level, for him,” Himel said.

The McKinney property sits approximately 17 miles from The Star, the Cowboys’ headquarters and practice facility in Frisco, a distance that translates to roughly a 30-minute drive. The 5,700-square-foot home, built in 2021, includes four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a movie room, an infinity-edge pool, and a three-car garage. The Collin County Appraisal District valued the property at nearly $2 million for tax purposes, compared with the $3.8 million listing price recorded on Zillow in mid-April. Himel noted that a buyer was secured relatively quickly.

Schottenheimer took over as Cowboys head coach in January 2025 after Mike McCarthy’s departure, having previously served the team as defensive coordinator. His first season in charge ended with a 7-9-1 record, leaving Dallas outside the playoff field. The Cowboys play their home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, roughly 36 miles from The Star.

Schottenheimer’s intended destination has not been disclosed. His decision to relocate closer to the facility reflects a common priority among NFL coaching staffs, where long hours make proximity to the workplace a practical necessity during the season.
