Jordan Love says he was ‘shocked’ by Josh Jacobs’ arrest on domestic violence charges during OTAs
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love said publicly for the first time during OTAs on Tuesday that he was shocked by the arrest of running back Josh Jacobs on domestic violence charges, while stressing that the team intends to let the legal process run its course.
Jacobs was booked into Brown County Jail on May 26 following a police response to a domestic disturbance complaint. He faces five charges: a felony count of strangulation and suffocation, and misdemeanor counts of battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim. His legal team has denied the allegations and called for fairness and restraint. Jacobs was released from custody on May 27 and has since returned to practice, with the District Attorney’s Office still reviewing the evidence before making a formal charging decision.
Love acknowledged that internal conversations have taken place within the organization but said details are being kept private out of respect for the situation and the ongoing legal proceedings. “We’ve talked internally,” Love told reporters. “Everyone knows what the situation is there.” He added that, despite the uncertainty, Jacobs’ presence at OTAs has allowed the offense to continue its work. “It’s great to have Josh here with us, being able to work with us and getting back to work,” Love said.
With no formal charges filed yet and the DA’s review continuing, the Packers remain in a period of structured uncertainty. Love indicated the team’s posture will not shift until the legal process produces a clearer outcome. “There’s a lot of uncertainty when you hear something like that,” he said. “We’ll let it play out and go from there.”
